SST Comparison Between RT_OFS_ATL and OI
SST
** Experimental Product **
Real Time Ocean Forecast System (RT_OFS_ATL) 0
hour nowcasts are compared to daily Optimum Interpolation (OI) SST
analyses. OI SST is a ¼ degree latitude/longitude analysis from
NOAA National Climatic Data Center (www.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/climate/research/sst/oi-daily.php).
All RT_OFS_ATL grids shown here are in standard latitude/longitude
format. The RT_OFS_ATL SST shown here for the entire Atlantic has a
resolution of 0.255 degrees. The RT_OFS_ATL grids for the Gulf of
Maine, Mid Atlantic Coast and Southeast Atlantic Coast have
resolutions of 0.046 degrees and the Gulf of Mexico grid has a
resolution of 0.034 degrees.
