Computer generated chart that is generated once a day and is based on the 12Z NCEP global model run. This product portrays the 500 mb heights for synoptic scale flow for long and short waves. Significant short waves are manually depicted that likely have an associated surface low. The contour interval is 60 meters. Wind barbs depict wind direction and wind speed in knots.
