Marine Weather Discussion for N Pacific Ocean
NWS Ocean Prediction Center Washington DC
1211 PM PST Sun Jan 21 2018

.FORECAST DISCUSSION...Major features/winds/seas/significant
.weather for the North Pacific N of 30N and E of 150W.

Active pattern expected to continue across the eastern Pacific
the next few days. The latest model guidance indicates that the
cold front currently east of the pz5 waters will continue inland
later today. Winds will continue to slowly diminish behind the
front later today and tonight. Another low is then expected to
move just northwest of the Washington offshore waters by Tuesday
with gale conditions expected across portions of the pz5 waters.
Yet another low will then cross the pz5 waters by late Wednesday.
Farther south, northwest winds up to 25 knots are expected
across the southern pz6 waters through early Tuesday. Winds will
then remain mainly light across the southern pz6 waters later
Tuesday into Wednesday night. The latest runs of the gfs and
ecmwf look to be in reasonable agreement across the eastern
Pacific through Friday. For wind grids will use the gfs 10m winds
throughout with some minor edits. Current warnings look
reasonable and few changes should be needed on the next offshore
waters forecast.

For wave height grids will also use the ww3 throughout the
forecast period.
